Planting a Cherry Tree?

I bought 2 cherry trees last year and dug holes in the ground and planted them.... I am new to planting and did not know that I had to untangle the root before planting.... The tree still flowered last year and had fruit. However I am worry that the tree might be stunted with the way the roots are..... should I unplant them and untangle the roots or leave it how it is?
