How can I convince my parents to let me study abroad for a semester of my sophomore year?

I'm going to be entering my sophomore year of high school next year and I truly want to study abroad for a minimum of a semester in this International American High School in France. I love traveling, culture, and this truly is the opportunity of a lifetime. The issue is I have very over protective parents who hardly allow me to do anything due to the issue of "my safety". But my parents do take education very seriously. I really want to convince them to let me go and I've thought of doing a presentation about the PROS of letting me go. But WHAT do I say? PLEASE HELP!!
